Five months after the event I have managed to hide my embarrassment enough to ask for help. I have managed to knock a 3 inch hole through the hull of my RIB.

I live in Tankerton - Kent and am new in the area - can anyone recommend where I can take my baby for repairs?

almost any boatyard will do grp repairs but it really isn't hard to do yourself if you can lay hands on a power sander.

I would recommend you take the Wessex Resins course on grp repair using thier products.Costs about a hundred quid including lots of materials to take home and a thorough grounding in grp repair to do the job at a fraction of the boatyard cost. More importantly futher "embarrasing" knocks will allow you to demonstate your expertise in making good!!!!!
Good luck

Good Morning

I took a fresh look at the damaged over the weekend. The hole size is larger than I stated +- 6inch X 1 inch. I have taken a few photographs which I could e-mail if you like.

I am anxious to have the repair carried out please let me know if you are able to assist and if so when would it be convenient for you to do so.
Thanks and regards

Athol

I would read the Wessex book on fiberglass repair. It costs 6 EU in Europe. Then with a litle practice it would be easy to restore the strength of the hull using Epoxies. The promlem might be the finish!
