As a relatively new boat owner of a targa 34 at Port Solent, I am enquiring if there are any future planned group trips down the south coast for a week or two - I understand one trip has left this weekend ( lucky with the weather ), but I was too late to organise myself to join
Any info gratefully received

PS aplogises to the sailers for misposting this note!!

Hmmm!! Most gits here usually hang around a while then sort of latch together with others, else like me, set off alone but find myself surounded by forum scurvy at every bloody port of call. Why not purchase one of the fine forum burgees and get yourself noticed. You can always hide it in a locker if it all becomes to much and you find yourself needing to reseve your place in the Betty Ford Clinic. Hope this helps..../forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Colin,
We are planning on heading West for a week, or 10 days, starting Saturday 21st August. No fixed plan but 1st stop Torquay, then probably Dartmouth, Salcombe, Plymouth, start back maybe Brixham, Weymouth, Yarmouth then home.
If you are interested let me know, even if only for the sea bits.

Terry

ps All very weather dependent as we have a habit of choosing the bad weeks which occur between the good ones, but we still keep moving, just not as far.

We're going to be heading off to bump into Wiggo and others albeit a week late - leaving Saturday 7th. Most likely be in Studland/Poole that night but nothing really planned there after apart from going west. May well end up coming back via the Channel Islands and/or France.

I'll echo Terry's sentiments about the weather though - our last planned week trip saw us mainly in the solent due to bad weather :)

click on the red words on hlb's post..............

also familirise yourself with (1) the burgee so that you can introduce yourself to any boat flying the thing and (2) a few of the boat names scattered around your cruising area. before DSC kills it you will inevitably hear a couple on 16 and can join in and introduce yourself - not mid conversation on channel 8 of course, like Sunday, Poole............/forums/images/icons/smile.gif
Anchored in Swanage last Saturday we had 4 flying in one raft and 3 seperate forum boats anchored up seperately - all of whom visited by trender. The 7 boats had started their trips from Chichester, Essex (milltech), Southampton, Poole (x2), Hamble and Christchurch only 2 had actually arranged to meet prior to that day!
