Grotty running rigging

I've just prepared the boat for her lift out tomorrow. Sails off and running rigging brought back home for the annual launder.

As usual any rigging that lies horizontally has a good smattering of green algae. Whilst this comes off in the washing machine, I know that it will reappear about next October. I was thinking of trying giving them a final soak in some sort of anti-mould solution to see if this might improve or prevent the problem next year.

Has anyone done this before and if so did it work? Also, is anyone aware if there is any risk of weakening the lines from this treatment?

Thanks for that. I guess you just dunk them in a bucket of the stuff?
Does it last for the season or do you do a repeat treatment?

dilute as instructions & ues an MT spray bottle filled with the stuf. its a green / blue colour but doesnt stain
