when you get a wind symbol on these things with a little triangle on the quiver, is this 50kn? So a triangle plus 1 and a half little line quivers is 65kn or the low edge of a hurricane? Noticed this on sunday's forecast for St George's channel.

Thinking of setting out, Douglas?

Seriously, I don't which GRIB file reader you are using, but the one that I'm using, a free fax reader recommended by Frank Singleton, shows the wind speed and directions for where ever the cursor is located on the chart.

Yes, I'm also using one of Frank's recomendations but reading the grib into maxsea. No, I'm nae gang onywhere this w/e!

(ta, brendan!)

jings .. and you'll be dangling some bait off yer tub this w/e?!! if waves get up to +40' on a period of 10secs and you're fishing so's the lure's moving up and down at 30mph, d'you think youse'll catch anything?!

No challenge is too great, for the mighty hunter /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Especially, this weekend's challenge of the return drive through the chunnel for the annual booze crooze.
