Having been told that Windy Pro provides GRIB data at hourly intervals instead of just being 3-hourly, I decided to check.
ECMWF data are available at hourly intervals for the first 90 hours. This is at a premium charge only.
GFS data are available at hourly intervals for 24 hours. This is free of charge, eg via SailDocs.
On the basis that SailDocs only provide ICON GRIBs at 3-hourly time intervals, I have to assume that DWD does not issue hourly GRIB freely.
Looking at some hourly GFS data, and bearing in mind the spatial smoothing, I have to query just how useful are hourly data. They seem incompatible withu an effective spatial resolution of 5 grid lengths.
