Greta, colregs & anchoring

With two trans-Atlantics under her belt, I wonder how familiar she is with the colregs & anchoring?
 
it matters to some because they still need to feed their bigoted minds and try to influence others with contunual nit picking and nonsense . perhaps he is suggesting that because he is not sure if she knows anything about colregs that she should not have an opinion on the man made climate threat .
 
She has neither the education in climate (or any other aspect of) science, nor the experience of skippering, to be worth listening to on either topic.

But she does, somehow, have the ability to reach people who would never listen to experts in climate science, and to direct their attention towards some of the issues that those scientists illuminate. How is that not a good thing?

Quite how she is so influential escapes me, but I've been reading scary climate science (and 'environmentally' active in a minor way) for 50 years (to the point where I'm rather bored by it all), but only now is it on the daily news.

I don't think she has ever claimed to be a scientific expert on climate. She has, however, repeatedly and consistently pointed out that amongst those who are scientific experts in climate there is no doubt whatsoever that Very Bad Things are on their way.

On her first trip, the yacht she sailed on was and still is, rigged for taking seawater measurements for scientific research adding to global knowledge.
 
Ive skippered yachts (various) across the Atlantic 12 times. My favourite anchor (on my own boat) is a CQR . I used it quite a lot. Especially in my fave islands off N. Venezuela. As one does. I would like to meet Greta because I think she is inspiring.

I agree that she is unlikely to have the experience to say anything worthwhile about skippering. As regards climate, it does not need much education to know that continually adding heat to a system will increase the temperature. On that basis, Trump and some in this forum must be at an extremely low educational level.

Its clear that even at 17, she knows bucket loads more about it than the forum armchair warmers....
