Gremlins in my Garmin 128

I have had two or three trouble free years with a Garmin 128. Last week I turned it on and it advised me that it had lost all my saved waypoints and routes but, interestingly, still had the time and date. It then successfully reininitialsed itself and appeared to work normally with the exception that it will no longer pass a position to the radio or to the cockpit indicator. I am a dummy when it comes to wiggly amps or data. Can any body advise me please. NB. I am very poor.

the internal batt has gone flat so all user settings have returned to default

go to interface and set the required protocol, usually nema in & out.


time & date are the first bit to download while initialising, i think.
