I have been here for a while but have failed to get a successful internet connection... until I got on safari. Odd. So, no pictures of the whales from a Hermanus boat. No pictures of speeding around Knysna lagoon on a powerboat. No pictures of a hilarious riverboat trip on something even birchwood would have been embarrassed about. I like SA

That would be Ernie's "River Rat" or Janice's "Platanna" then? Pity I didn't know you were going to be here as maybe I could have taken you out on "Three Summers" which was on the Thames last year!!

I live two blocks away from "River Rat" and "Platanna's" mooring spots.

I have some cracking photos of the trip on this boat. I will post them when I return to th UK. Very sorry to have missed the chance to meet wobblylegs - though I am in Cape Town for the week. If I am not eaten by a big cat.

Weather? Brrrr

Freezing here. Had a sunny morning and saw some wonderful sights. But then went elephant "hunting" this evening. Very cold, very wet, and very non-elephant.

Update to the thread - I now have the job of rebuilding "River Rat's" deck and later (next winter) rebuilding just about the entire boat.

I also bought "Platanna" last winter, and am now entering my second season as owner/skipper, my third season as skipper...
