Well we've made it this far!
After our initial rainy, bumpy crossing of the Gulf du Lions the sea flattened out and we had a pleasant trip pretty well the rest of the way. I was even treated to a Dolphin display on my (21st) birthday yesterday. This part of the trip has taken us 4 days. Once we sorted out the shift patterns it wasn't too bad. I did the 10 til 2 and Jon followed me. the day shift wasn't so bad but the graveyard shift was facinating. The night sky in the Med is so clear you can see millions of stars and you can see ships 12 - 14 miles away quite clearly. I kept an (AIS) eye out for Hurricane in Jenny Wren but I think we missed him by a day, We are here for a couple more days while various jobs get done on the boat then we fly home for a few days before coming back for the next installment.

That 3rd picture - trust you two to not be able to leave the bird (s) alone!! Or were you lost and the bird told you were close to land?

Nice one Col, but not sure you should be navigating as you can't seem to count past 21 ;)

The boat is a Fleming 55 and they were bringing it down from San Remo. After a few days R&R back in the UK it is going Trans Atlantic to Fort Laudadale via the Azores and Bermuda.

It is rather a nice trip!! Due back in December, meanwhile I'm left here holding the reins - hay ho!

Hmm very nice too! Saw an lovely F55 in La Rochelle in July with a nice old boy on board, he was having it taken by by delivery crew to be home in time for Cowes week. He was a member of the Royal Yacht Squadron. Not the same boat is it?

He'd been to a RYS meeting in Benodet and had uninvited boarders who left behind broken glass etc. His laid back verdict on that episode was that it/they were "rather tiresome". I think I'd have been somewhat more annoyed!!

No, this boat has been in the Med for last two years. After pottering around the eastern seaboard for a bit it will then move on to the Pacific and eventually go all the way round the world. Adventurous owner.

I hope you had the same weather that we had.

Just got back home - no internet connection so late in replying to this thread.

Sorry to have missed you but its huge area and at night we we were "taking in" some good restaurants.

We had a fab cruise - Sant Carles to Barcelona then around Mallorca - overnighting on the hook and swimming (yes swimming in November). Finally got back to SC just over a week later.

The crew of Warlock were great - introduced us to loads of fab Calas - brilliant sunshine - great food - too much wine - all in all just too much to take in at this time of the year. Maybe I'll post a report - got loads of pics.

Not called "Lion", by any chance? If so, "rather tiresome" is an epithet that sometimes gets applied to him, particularly in relation to leaving mountains of wash behind him in the Beaulieu River :(
