Green halyards and lines

Our halyards and reefing lines which run fore and aft along the deck from mast to cockpit have the inevitable winter green slime staining where they lay on the deck. I don't really want to remove the whole lot from the boat. Does anyone know the best solution to put in a bucket to clean these up?

best to remove a few @ a time soak in MMC then washing machine @ 60 deg long wash high water level & fabric softener

The alga does not like seawater much. Try a bucket off seawater over them to start with and just allow to soak and dry off. Some very dilute bleach will kill it too.

So long as the ropes are not too old I find a high pressure hose gets rid of a lot and then use a weak bleach soak followed, quickly, by a cool wash and spin dry.
