any advice of (an easy way!) of removing green deposit on bronze seacocks?.
I think it is a product of air ( acid pollution) and the bronze/brass.

Someting that could be sprayed on would be very welcome.

Regards,

Duke.

Biox is the stuff you need.
Biox was originally developed for use on deep sea diving gear, particularly for use on head gear and breathing apparatus and was one of the few cleaners approved by Lloyds for this purpose.

Its a substance know as "verdigris" (sp?).....and it is toxic, so don't lick the seacocks or your fingers after touching them...

You can clean the bronze with most anything that will work.....but one trick that will help to keep them clean and corrosion free, at least on the inside of your boat... is to coat them with anhydrous lanolin....a light coating will do the trick. I cleaned a couple of mine about a year ago and coated them with the anhydrous lanolin and the coating is still in place and there is no verdigris on the ones that were cleaned.

Is anhydrous lanolin known by any brand name?
Where would one get this normally - chemist shop?

Duke.

available at any chemist may have to be ordered - some times known as wool fat. Has many uses - from coating the propellor as an antifouling, to lubricating anything thats in the open, as the base does not evaporate like petrolium based grease, - so shakles - rigging screws etc.
