green cleaners ... universal stone etc, any good ?

Just equipping the boat for the season and looking for marine safe cleaning products and stumbled on Universal Stone which if the hyperbole is anthing to go by would be a single product for almost every conceivable cleaning job but at 19gbp plus shipping isnt cheap. Anyone used it ? Does the glycerin residue make decks slippery ? Is is any good in the galley for burned on spills ?

Cream Cleaner ( Creme cleaner if French ) is the best universal cleaner available. I have polished all my stainless tubing with it today, we use it on the decks, on the dinghy, topsides, everywhere. It is cheap and could hardly be more 'green', just a bit of natural pumice abrasive and soap.

Absolutely! And buy own-brand stuff too, Tesco's is about 30p a bottle. I use it on a sudsy sponge to clean topsides.

Thats what I have been using until now but is abrasive which isnt ideal on ali pots and pans or brightwork and leaves a powdery residue on the deck if not thoroughly rinsed off.

Ive used Universal stone on my boat and found it very good. Used it on the fenders and the stainless steel sink at home.
