Spent a lot of money over the years on cleaners etc to clean green algea off of my deck and fittings.
This morning I was about to start the annual clean up, when I spotted a jar of white vinigar laying in my shed, well they say that vinigar will clean a lot of things, so I thought why not give it a try, and it cleaned the algea off straighjt away, I then washed of with clean water.
A cheap, quick solution.

Diluted bleach and an old toothbrush works wonders
You dont even need the tooth brush. A quick rinse down with some very dilute bleach and then leave. It does not destroy the green colour immediately but it kills the alga and then the green disappears.

Protecting from the rain and a cover that excludes daylight stops it forming.

Once afloat salt water seems to be effective too.

Bleach and Washing up liquid

A trick I stumbled across a few years ago (in PBO I think).............

Bucket of warm water, 10% bleach and a good swig of washing up liquid

The washing up liquid cleans and the bleach kill the algae then just rinse off.....easy!
