Had my first Greek charter this year around the Saronic and down to Astros. Fantastic time.
Would very much like to repeat the experience but in a different location.
I have looked at Jim Baerselmans website. Very interesting. At the moment there isn't any info with regards to Turkey, although I believe Jim will be posting info on his site this winter.
Has anyone any recommendations for cruising areas in the East Med?

You have three main charter bases in southwestern Turkey, each with a very nice cruising environment: Bodrum, Marmaris and Fethiye Bay. In Fethiye Bay, you have two charter bases; Gocek (Göcek in Turkish) is the largest, Fethiye is new and upcoming. All three areas have many nice bays, villages, antique ruins and shoreside restaurants with jetties. The easiest sailing ground is Fethiye Bay with numerous beautiful anchorages and flat water sailing. Enjoy Turkey!

thanks for the very speedy reply.
I will get hold of a Turkish waters pilot and have a good read.

There are two or three charter cos. based in Fethiye Marina now and in my opinion this is much nicer than Gocek although they share the same sailing area between Fethiye and Gocek.
Ali Kisakuek: email info@fe-marine.com runs one charter co and they seem to have a good range of yachts available.
Loads of good cruising here particularly if you have a couple of weeks to spare and it`s easy to get to with many flights from UK airports to Dalaman each week and this is about 45 mins from Fethiye and only 25 to Gocek.
Enjoy!
