Greatest sailors of 21st C or 20th from 1960 onwards

May I suggest Willy De Roos?
This Dutchman who lived and worked in Belgium was the first to complete the North West Passage from East to West in one season. He did so in 1977 in his 13m steel ketch Williwaw, partly with one crew member, partly solo. After the North West Passage he continued to Antarctica and sailed home via Cape Horn, which made him the first to circumnavigate the Americas.

His book is a great read.

So many great sailors already mentioned. I'll throw in 2 Ians.

Ian Walker - Olympic great (what would have been without the loss of John Merricks...) and dominant Ocean race win in OD.
Ian Williams - 7 time world match racing champion.

Leo Goolden.

Many of his achievements are unique and it's a long list. If he does not get a gong and then a knighthood soon, there is summut wrong with the system.
