So we left Christchurch in a sea fog on Thursday at 2200... Got through the harbour and "the run" with the aid of a strong spotlight...(Why are the buoys not numbered?) Saw another 'butter (Wicked) on the way out ( He was going in ?).. Arrived at St Vaast at 1400 on the Friday... Dined at the Fushcia ( Absolutely the biz).. St Vaast was fairly crowded with The Moody mob, (including Big Nick and his delectable crew) The two clubs from Emsworth, and the RAF club from Hamble
(Why has it suddenly become " Le Rice"??)
There was a slight shemozzle when the Friday evening opening took place..
Lots of boats anchored off just waiting, eating, and I guess having a snifter ... There was a mad rush and, from the overheard words, one in a hurry smacked another who was still anchored!!
Saturday was windy but it was harry flatters when we left at 0200 Sunday motorsailed off and on round to Cherbourg ... The inshore eddy up to Barfleur really helped...
In Cherbourg we met up with Wicked again and Lady in Red/Bed.. which was nice, and left for a quick (for me) trip to Christchurch at 0500 Monday (Moored up at 1620)..

But really nice to see the other 'butters..
And thanks for all the advice we throughly enjoyed St Vaast..
Oh BTW I cannot fall into a Fuschia!! (unless it's a restaurant)

Cheers Bob E...

Nice to see you and Stefan as well. Look forward to 'proper' drinking at SB Cherbourg run when it won't be such a early start!!!!

Bob - I have emailed you a picture of the back end of my boat as I noticed you never got close enough to see it on the way back to blighty! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
