Next weekend has been assigned to taking 'a few of the boys from the pub' for a weekend sailing (a bunch of old farts who play cribbage every Tuesday actually). They range from an optician who has sailed with his friend a few times to a retired school teacher who has been in nothing more than a Mirror on a reservoir or the cross channel ferry, so it could be 'interesting'.

So this weekend gone, I thought I should be a very good boy and make sure I am on SWMBO's right side - and I did remarkably well.

Friday evening - dusted and vacuumed the whole living room.
Saturday daytime - great day sailing, just the two of us. Didn't raise my voice at all, but lost a few points each time the lee gunwale went under water. Returned to marina and installed the Jabsco service kit, so the heads no longer sprays water on the user or backfills with pee&sea.
Saturday evening - went to bed at the same time as her, instead of staying up to watch Match of the Day. Got more than just brownie points (must try that more often!)
Sunday daytime - finished decorating the bathroom which I started in January. Then burnt a huge pile of last year's garden rubbish, as well as boxes of paper containing personal details from SWMBO's business.
Sunday evening - discussed the purchase of a new fridge/freezer.

On all three evenings, didn't waste any time talking crap to my friends on the forum!

SO now my conscience is clear for a chaps weekend on the boat - but the forecast is lousy! Ah well, you can't win at everything.

<but the forecast is lousy!>

You had me worried there for a moment so I just checked and the outlook I found for the Solent next weekend looks okay...

On Saturday a bit of sun in the morning with cloud building later, 10 - 15 mph winds N backing NW. Cloudier on Sunday with less wind but still no rain.

I'm hoping mine's right and not yours! Saturday is set to be our maiden voyage from Lymington to P'mouth in the new toy and I'm now looking forward to a pleasant beam reach in shades and shorts all the way... Yeah, and pigs might fly!

No, No, No she'll be expecting this regularly now, and worse still there may be other SWMBO's reading this forum and expecting similar treatment, I suggest you amend your posting right away ( you could leave the bit about going to bed early)
