If you want a small torch that gives out plenty of light try one of these https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9LrBSwZam8. They do different powers or lumens. I was at a small canoe place near a lake and the shop there was selling them. I bought two of the smaller 250's as it is small enough to fit in a pocket and ideal to have a few lying around the boat. It also has a strong magnet at one end. It has 3 modes I would describe as, blinding, almost blinding and red flashing. I love them and may get one or two of the higher power ones. For the size/power/price, I think they are superb.
