Superb rally by the ODCC to Ashmount House this past weekend. Some of the members including Brayman went for a walk to the Leathern Bottel where they were refused a drink. (I did warn them how unwelcome customers are there before they went)
It seems like the ODCC had put on several meals a day. No sooner was breakfast over they were serving tea coffee and cakes, followed by drinkies followed by lunch followed by, followed by afternoon Tiffin and cakes, followed by evening meal and so on and so forth.
There's no doubt about it - it was a splendid weekend.

It was indeed a great weekend, except the Monday morning head /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

You are indeed nobody until you've been turned away by the Leatherne bottle, now looking forward to be being turned away by the Compleat Angular.
Monkey Island must be another good one to be turned away by, but if i get turned away at the Bounty I might start to worry /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I was convinced we would get away with starting a tab for Lord Byron, but the snotty little manager was having none of it. Thank goodness for the Perch & Pike, they deserved our trade.

Great weather for the Rally too, bit of a shock this morning, having heard the forecast we've come home for a couple of days instead of continuing downstream.

Compleat Angler now sorted - at least for the time being as long as you are dining. Passed Monkey Island yesterday and they have a nice big banner saying free mooring to customers. Also understand Boulters Inn is going to refurb their jetty in due course.

What was the Leathern Bottles reason for excluding you? Mind you, you had Ian in tow, didnt you.........?

I wasn't in tow, Chris_D's dog Olly was the only thing in tow!

They don't "do drinks" don't ya know.
We'd have been happy with coffee just to show it could be done - but there you are, it can't be done!

Ollie was the problem then, great vicious slavering hound that it is. He stole my bloody rice pudding on the Saturday.

True and he hadn't shaved his legs. Couple that to how the back of the dress had accidentally been tucked into his knickers from when he had been in the bushes for a dump. Not a pretty sight.

Does the ODCC not have any rules or regs about 'language unbecoming.....' ?

Fat lot of good being all arty farty about blue blazers, posh frocks and fenders ......

ODCC is a bit thin on the ground when it comes to rules. We need an old curmudgeon like you to join and invent some.
