Most interesting.

The fact that under test a single sheet bend slipped while a double sheet bend held is in direct contradiction to the view recently expressed either on here or in one of the magazines that a double sheet bend gives no benefit over a single.

The relatively poor results for knots in high tech line is interesting too.

Hi all, I am the one with load cell doing (most of) those tests. There is a nice summary of all the test results on our website (www.bethandevans.com and click on the "load testing" tab).

Beyond the bench tests, out in the "real works" I can confirm from first hand experience with sheet bends and double sheet bends in my snubbers that the single will slip when the double will not.
