One famous travel writer Theroux I think decided to start a travel adventure from his front door, which is quite novel as most adventures start by going somewhere first…..to get in a more adventageous position…..Theroux I think went from his front door to cape Horn,by bus and train

I look forward to watching that with some trepidation, as I don't want to have my treasured image of what he must be like to be sullied by reality!
Its a listen, not a watch, and he comes across very well :) He is a breat tale teller and the interviewer lets him speak and doesnt interrupt with naff questions.

I met him briefly last month - actually sailed past him in the Gulf of Corinth. So he's making good progress with Black Sea to Venice (I thought he said from Danube, but maybe it was Volga). The wind blew up to F6 not 10 minutes after we passed him, watched he was OK as he headed inshore. A good bit of boat handling in a Mirror Dinghy!
