This time we're asking - Will EA registration hikes drive boaters off our waterways?

The EA is looking at plans to raise registration fees for boats and businesses on its rivers by 14% a year for the next three years. Not only that, but there's a chance that the hikes could continue - for another nine years.

Will boaters just stump up the cash and carry on? Or is it time to move to waters new?

Is that on all EA waterways? I'm on the Great Ouse and many of us have a more modest budget for boating. What with Marina fees, insurance and licence fees boating on the river is already an expensive pastime.

I for one am moving to a tidal mooring as soon as I get back on the water . It doesn't look to me like they will stop the increases once they start , so I'm off .
