Had the best day out so far this year.Locked out in the same lock as Ishtar a few tacks into the southerly breeze got us out to the Holmes then back across on a reach to Barry for a break and some food.

Passed Cobby Girl heading up to Portishead after a sail west on the ebb first.

Wind freshened for a beam reach flat out back up to Cardiff.

Roll on Summer.

And the promised pic of my plotter holder in action /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

A brilliant day. Great sailing and good company. enjoyed meeting Andrew, and seeing Cobby girl on the way to Portsihead was brilliant. My ankle was swollen like a grapefruit when I got home, from when I fell down the companionway, and Louise explaining what had happened to allan on the Radio whilst laughing hysterically, good stuff.

I'll sort through the pics when I get a chance. May be some nice ones. I can't see the ones I took of Cobby Girl, which is annoying.

May I say that Graham's chart table organiser is the best thing I have ever seen on a boat, bar none?

The speed at which he unscrewed it and offered it to me when I said it looks like something you would pay £29.99 for at a chandlers just shows how versatile it is.

Any advance on £49.99? I could make them to order provided some more hardwood offcuts get dumped in the club skip first. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gifI have been into recycling since long before it became popular.

Nope, my bid was a stalking horse for you Graham, Damo owes you £49.99. My cut is a tenner.

Finally sorted a few pics out. Maybe a couple of vids to follow:

And off up towards Portishead for a great weekend:

Andrew driving Banjo as hard as he can to overtake Louise helming Ishtar. Don't tell him she was spilling wind all the while to let him pass......

And the winner of this month's 'three good looking blokes standing in a lock' goes to:

Andrew does have a competitive streak. He wasnt at all happy with me insisting on doing the washing up before leaving the mooring in Barry. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Watching the pair of you eat and drink, I'd bet the washing up was no small task.........

Banjo, just after turning for Barry:

And heading back for Cardiff, I think it may be just at Sully. Sorry for the shakes.

Did it again today.

Locked out at 10, Louise wanted to sail around the Holms without me helping, which she did, we then shot down the coast with the Ebb to Summerhouse point, via that roundy castley thing at Aberthaw. Mistimed it slightly and had to use the engine for the last half hour but still only just caught the 19:15 lock, our first in the dark.

Both exhausted and elated, another 46 miles.

I could get used to this not working lark.

your going to wear that boat out /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif PS thanks for posting the video clips. I tride to do one of Ishtar the other day but it was too blurry to watch. Will try again .

Cheers Graham

I'll sort them oonto a CD for you when you have a chance, they are a bit better quality than the internet ones, and there may be a couple of pics as well.
