Hi all,

Does anyone have any tried and tested methods/products for cleaning grease stains from teak. We had a drinks party on board last weekend and a lot of crisps got dropped in the cockpit leaving a lot of greasy marks. SWMBO has tried cleaning with an Owatrol product which is good for cleaning normal grime but has not touched the greasy marks.
Pic attached shows the problem.

Leave them. They'll wash out in time. You can give them a bit of a wash with detergent or cleaner but there is no need to work too hard at it. We had a guest spill a whole half bottle of red wine in our then new cockpit and that too disappeared.

Leave it - you basically just put a bit of teak oil on there (sunflower oil most likely in this case), and anyone who has oiled their teak will know this never lasts very long. Or get some more sunflower oil and do the rest to match :)

Thanks for all the replies, it sounds like washing powder and vinegar may be the way to go for big areas, and perhaps K2R for a, hopefully occasional, small spillage.

I have used K2R this morning, pretty effective, it has got most of the marks out and maybe a second application will shift those remaining. Thanks for your replies.
