I am looking forward with bated breath for Brendan's response to that one - do you make a practice of teaching professional egg suckers how to suck eggs as well? /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

Hi John, like the new name - couldn't resist joining in then?

Only when the professional egg sucker gets it wrong - a man's got to have a hobby when not sailing. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

He was just as quick on the uptake - see post above /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif

If you take a closer look, you'll see I was actually responding to a post by Phil, not to Haydn.

Are you sure the computer's blown, and not just the modems damaged, you could remove the modem and see if it works. Or take it to something like pc worlds computer repairers and see how much it would cost to fix

It was recognised in computer circles as being the very best ever made and in a working state a real classic now worth many thousands of pounds.

talk about the kettle calling the pot black. he was asking the organ grinders hlb says, I've heard him play his own electronic organ, and the word "grinders" certainly springs to mind. Longjohn's heard a tape, believe me the real thing is worse. Sounds at times like that orchestra that all deliberately plays out of tune. Unfortunately the said organ survived the lightening strike.

No it's a proper organ 200 Wats through the amp!! Exelerater peddle and loads of foot rest thingies!! Strangers On The Shore is more apt. I was thinking of taking the dinning table out of MF and installing it down there, just like Captain Nemo on the Nautilus in 20,000 leagues under the sea!!

to set the record straight, actually hlb is very good at playing his organ, but some keys don't work, so he uses another key in its place & that makes it sounds like the out of tune orchestra at times. His rendition of the house of the rising sun should win awards !!! (BOG awards)

Heard a tape!!??

Yes hlb did attempt to play his organ tape but from memory the best sound was it plopping into the oggin after the first minute or so. We then listened to the sounds of silence, bliss!
