In a similar vein to my Guernsey? posting . . .

Has anyone any experience of the Normandy west coast between Granville and Carteret?
For example, the Sienne estuary at Regneville?

Obviously rocky in parts, but also dries out to sand. We're wondering about the feasibility of overnighting in those parts. Grehan will beach easily and float in 0.75m.
Are westerlies (lee shore) a big potential problem?

Once again, thanks in advance.

Portbail is a lovely place, if you can dry out on fairly firm sand ok.

However, last year we decided on a second night anchored in the estuary, not in the little marina. The tide switched from flood around 2 knots flood to 4 knots ebb in an instant, and gave us some nasty moments as the anchor pulled out and didn't reset for around 100 metres.
