Is coming down at 11.00 next Wednesday.
At 244 M it is one of the highest structures in south.
OG is of course using it as an excuse to skive off work and make a day of it.

I am feeling quite sad about this. The chimney has stood guard over the entrance to the Medway for years and although it did tend to mock when the tide is against you and it moves so slowly, it is an old friend and one that will be missed.

Although it started off a bit misty and unpromising and we could not even see the thing until a mile or so away,it did turn out to be cracking day.
Anchored up and settled in.
As 11.00 approached there was some "discussion" about wether it would actually be demolished at the advertised time but folks sort of got their cameras ready and then........
10 seconds later its all over apart from the sound of the explosion arriving a few moments later.
Can confirm that OG had actually no idea of how to use the video on his camera. :(Anybody relying on my expertise for pictures of events will be somewhat disappointed.
Off round to Sharfleet for refreshments.
Really good turnout from Medway boaters including one from up at Allington.
Another one of the Thames Clippers is in for a spruce up at Toughs in the Chatham Dockyard.
