GPS Waypoints Down/Uploads

I recently loaded a terrific piece of software from wwww.gpsu.co.uk where I can download from my Garmin 12 handheld all my waypoints for archiving and can do the same the other way. All very well and excellent as you can just put the waypoints you need when you need them into your GPS leaving your GPS clutter free (does routes as well). However, I cannot find a site where you can find "Nautical" waypoints (I say this because you can get Lat/Long for the M5 motorway - fat lot of use when sailing in the Ionian). Does anyone know where you can get, say, all the ports/harbours for the Ionian but in a ready to upload format - i.e. to save typoing them out in the first place. They would have to be in a format suitable for Garmin 12 though. If anyone is interested in this sort of thing anyway you might like to cisit the website and see what it offers.

Do you really need way point, sailing from Lefkas. We've sailed out of there a couple of times and down to the Corinth Canal (is that it) with just a rough guide from the compass. Mostly you can see land all around so not much navigation needed. Course if your going much further I understand but then I would want to find my own positions off a chart.

Plot your own from a chart of the area or get a rough wp from a pilot for the area.

Do not know of a downloadable list but try Rod Heikell waypoint list update below.

I think the Sivota and Petriti waypoints are suspect so cross check these.

Do we require waypoints? the answer must be yes if we must have a ROUTE PLAN
or does this not apply in Greece. As you know you can get heat haze in the area so line of sight can also be restricted at times. I took my Garmin12 in 2001 and found it most useful. I will be back again in August with Templecraft can't wait.
