GPS to I pad with Navionics

I am going to charter a small boat for a couple of days and am not sure how comprehensive the nav equipment will be. Now I have an i pad with Navionics on it can anyone point me to a Bluetooth GPS that will provide my position to the Navionics app I will not be able to use a phone before anyone suggests it.

Does the iPad not have GPS built in to it...?

I use a Global Sat Bluetooth to my net book with memory map and it works OK like this one http://www.globalsat.co.uk/product_pages/gsat_products_bluetooth_bt368.htm

But Apple don't make it easy to connect non apple devices. My Iphone doesn't even see my Bluetooth GPS or netbook.

The wi-fi only iPad doesn't have GPS built in.

There's also one called BadElf that plugs directly into the iPad. Both are around the £95 mark.

I use a Garmin GLO bluetooth GPS which I bought from Amazon - connects instantly to up to 36 GPS satellites and the Russian Glasnos sats too as a back up. It connects easily to the iPad bluetooth and has guided me all round the south coast and Northern France as my only plotter. Costs about £65 and runs all day on one charge - I can highly recommend it
