Anyone any idea if gps plotters are cheaper in Singapore?
It depends on how good your bargaining skills are ... "But what is your best price?"

Singapore may be squeaky-clean in business compared to its neighbours but they still practice the ask-bid dance.

I haven't lived there for over 20 years now but I cannot believe things have changed that much.

I've never specifically looked for boat electronics but I have no reason to think that they'd be any cheaper than in the UK. I go there fairly regularly for business (February was my last trip) and I'm married to a former citizen. The Sing $ is fairly strong against our weak £ so that will not help.

Much nicer things to do in Singapore than look for a GPS, imho :encouragement:

Thanks for your advice David. As flat screen tv's are half uk prices i thought it might be worth a search. As for the sights, there is a lot to see. I am staying at my daughter's place at Robertson Quay.

That's a nice location, envious!

Have you ever been to the Yacht Club of Singapore, it's just off the ECP not far from Changi. Very, very nice! They have a book to show reciprocal membership privileges for visitors.......I'm sure you can blag it. Most local members use it for its leisure facilities and have probably never set foot on a boat. Yachting attracts big tax so isn't as affordable for the majority, as it is here.

My in-laws lived off Serangoon Avenue North, just off Ang Mo Kio Ave 3, if you know the area.

No visit would be complete without a meal in China Town. Plus, off course, watching the eye candy parading along Orchard Road.

Hope you have a good trip.
