I'm looking to hook up may laptop (second-hand Deel thingie running WIndows XP Pro with 1 USB port & 1 serial port) to my Furuno 32 GPS.

Anyone have any idea what "hardware" (cables....) I might need? Also, any advice on some decent freeware navigation software would be appreciated.

Thanks

Have a look at the Garmin site (FAQ's section). They deal with the cables etc you need to conect up a Garmin unit. Although you are using a Furuno gps principles should be the same. Maplin are a good place to get the cables you need.
