I have an older laptop running windows that operated Memory map charts well with a GPS dongle that lived outside when underweigh, but over the winter although brought inside the insides of the little devil corroded and ceased to work.
Ok so I buy another [ u-blox 7] which is fitted and the set up is copied and working.
However the position doesn't show up on the screen, and the satellite status shows nil. Laptop and gps dongle outside in the open so it should be ok.
What's wrong?
Now fixed- I didn't change the type of input from Garmin to generic.
