My Garmin 76 - which you all told me to buy last year talks nicely to my Laptop.
Now that we own an ICOM DSC thingy radio -
1 Question - If I wire the Garmin up to that as well, will all 3 play nicely?

The Garmin is fixed in that it sits in a plastic jobbie in the wheelhouse and is powered from the No2 Domestic battery - if that helps.

Should be OK to 4 units. I added a cockpit repeater to my last Garmin72 application and it all worked OK.

Should be fine.
Congrats on your fine purchase /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Any dram's with the radio you know where to find me.

Best regards

Hmm
Well I once went bashing on about my Fenderstep - giving it a good write-up and thoroughly recommending it to the whole wild world and someone came on who had something to do with the manufacturing or the marketing of them and there I was thinking we'd get more than you shake a stick at for all the free advertising and not a scorrack came my way. So I'm not holding out any hope for the absolutely wonderful ICOM 601 which I have purchased - on the grounds that my 20 year old ICOM handheld has been the most reliable and absolutely fantastic piece of communications technology a person could possibly wish for as the fenderstep experienced has banished forever from my mind - nay my life, any thoughts that Father Christmas or Fairy God persons exist

Commiserations on your move to DSC. Just remember NOT to programme in your MMSI number then it will work like a normal VHF. You will not have alarms going off every time a weather forecast comes out or there is an "all stations" broadcast. The noise is enough to waken the dead (or scare you sober).
