GPS blocking in the Minch?

Sitting at a pontoon in the North Minch last night with the VHF on and noticed that the GPS was displaying odd movements - 8 knots while tied up. VHF reception not great, so called up coastguard today who said it might be because there's a naval exercise going on, perhaps with GPS blocking. Anyone else suffering anything?
