gps aerial/antenna

I think I need a new aerial for my chart plotter (very old Vision07) which now very rarely finds the satallites (with or without the aerial being plugged in). Not sure what I need except it must have a BNC connector. All I read about is car gps systems which basically say it is suitable for this & that type of receiver. Do I need a special type? or can I say any will do as long as it has BNC connector?

Just come across your ad, I have put an MLR GPS aerial on ebay. I listed it on Wednesday but it is not due to start until 6pm today (Saturday) I think it's what you are looking for and has the right connection. Wish I had seen it earlier as I dont expect it to fetch a deal . Had I not already listed it you would have been welcome to try it free of charge (for the cost of the postage) and you could have found out if it was your GPS or aerial before you bought this or any other
