Yippee, got internet onboard. Ugrib works for weather. Can access email and everything. B*gg*r this must be costing a fortune. On Movistar in spain, mobile hooked up to laptop. Doing a search maybe I should have went with yoigo, anyone know how much movistar payg charge for gprs? Also, what tips to keep charges to a minimum? Friend mentioned a web site where you can view email txt only before downloading. Any other tips?
Thanks

If the sim you are using has you concerned about charges and you are in spain, get a yoigo - 1.39e per day unlimited. I've been using it since 19th June without problem.

Where are you?

The way to minimize email costs are to not view them via a web browser. Instead set up your Outlook Express (or Mac Mail if you are on Apple) to download and upload via a POP account (help function explains how to do it, it is not difficult). Check first that your mail service supports POP accounts, I use Yahoo mail and it works fine both in Web mode and download.

The benefit with this method is that your are only downloading characters and not graphics so it is very fast and cheap. Secondly, you have all your mail on your computer and can view and edit in your own time and does not have to be connected.

There was a thread a while ago about downloading e-mail at quick speed and then viewing off line, I think the programme used was a free download called JBMAIL , we used it for a while when on dial up internet, certainly very quick
