Have been trying to work out how this stuff works and how much it costs.
I looked on the various websites for info but am totally confused. The prices quoted for x amount per mb etc baffle me.
All I need is a cheap and cheerful way of getting on the internet in Europe. OK at the moment we have a wifi set up in the marina but that is possibly not always going to be there.
Any help for a thick old fart greatfully accepted.

GPRS is what im useing now to make this post .im useing a dell pda and sony erricson phone and sitting in my cabin listening to the rain and cold north wind
Its slow so you must turn off images pics-then its quite fast!
cost 15krone per meg or 1.6euros about 1 pound a meg and i use up to 2megs a day if im on all day! for email and this forum about half a meg
3G remember vodaphone paid billions for the licensebits much faster 56kbsmax but as with the old dial-up if you have modern images it will be slow,
main draw back is that the phone battery runs out very quickly and you will use far more data at the same price as gprs its better but?
I will buy a 3G phone perhaps next year?they are very expensive for the moment but will continue with gprs as its ideal energy speed price wise for my boat, gets and sends email wonderfully
