Government SPending Review 2015/16

A further 10% cut across the EA in addition to the reductions already in place. Our friends in Reading are really going to be up against it unless some new source of revenue can be identified and effective in short order - pigs, wings, fly etc.
I understand that the increased revenue starting to show from the new registration enforcement regime has been largely negated by a fall in visitor registration and lock side facilities income last year due to the bad weather.CPI is running slightly higher than this time last year so we can expect licences to rise by another 5% (CPI + 2%) or so come January, but that won't even come close to compensating for the levels of reductions in budgets and grant-in-aid.

Pity they chased so many boat owners (20%?) away with the inception of the original nonsensical BSS. They didn't even have a grandfather clause in there. Although much improved the BSS still carries many stupidities.
