And why not? The Marina now has quite a few cats in and they do take up a lot of space. BTW there was a beaut there two weeks ago, from Guernsey, don't remember the name.
On the other hand Gouvia does seem to be jacking up its efforts to rake it in generally.
Good!! Hope they stay there though -- don`t want the monstrous uglies down south in Levkas Marina -- maybe the relative tightness of the canal will keep `em out. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
What does it cost to moor in Gouvia Marina for a 10m Mono. In Yachting World Rod Heikell talks of 0.30 euros/m docking fee plus 0.36euros/m per day. This seems very cheap or have I read it wrong.
10 - 12m 3500 Euro per annum incl 3 months ashore and 19% Greek vat.
Liftout / crane fees are 190 Euro - same again to go back in.
Hull pressure wash 70 Euro
Repropping charge 70 Euros
The Marina charges 20% on top of local contractors bills as a 'tax' unlesss you argue bloody hard against it.
Yes I will be moving my boat next year unless I can work something else out. Flights to Corfu are getting more and more expensive, there is a promise of winter direct flights but nothing definate yet.
Upside - good marina, good security, good liveaboard facilities, lots of expats both liveaboard and visiting, nice cruising ground.
Downside - Mosquitos in summer, flights, mosquitos, prices, oh and did I mention the mosquitos?
