Gota Canal Sweden

I'm presently overwintered at Augustenborg in Denmark. Plans for next year are a trip through the Gota Canal West to East. Has anyone done it who can give me some advice, information: on best charts to buy, recommended anchorages, marinas, supermarkets, restaurants, transit times ,costs, navigation, etc. I've tried the Swedish tourist website but they don't seem able to help, other than with basic tourist info on sweden.

You could start by looking at the website of the canal www.gotakanal.se (available in english) and the site for Trollhätte kanal (www.vanerland.com) which you have to start on to get to lake Vänern. There are many facilities along the way as you are passing towns and villages all the time. When you reach the Baltic, call me and I might show you some nice places.
