Molly Kay
30 foot classic 1931 Osborne Gentleman’s Yacht
Molly was commissioned in July 1931, she is part 1 registered and I have her original ‘blue book’ registration. She was refitted extensively in 1985 and is currently about half way through another refit.
Over the last 2 years I have spent countless amounts of money in renovating Molly to a high standard. She’s still very much work in progress and should appeal to someone who is not afraid to get stuck in.
Due to time and now financial restrictions, I cannot carry on and need to pass her to someone who will bring her back. Recently all her forward decks have been replaced and recovered in epoxy, all rot was cut out and new planks scarfed in (photos avail). Currently her aft cabin was in the process of being stripped off and the rot cut out (non-structural) – this will need finishing and provides a prime opportunity for the new owner to plan her layout to suit.
In my tenure Molly and I have sailed up the French canals and back to the UK. Her mooring is paid in Newhaven until the end of June.
Her inventory is vast and she is powered by a 70hp Mermaid Merlin diesel. I will compile and send a list on request.
Ideally I would like to realise around £6k (offers) which is a lot less than I paid and have spent, but I realise there is a way to go before she is back to prime.
I need to move on quickly so be quick!
There are photographs of Molly which can be found on www.castletine.com
