A bunch of gentlemen of a certain age doing a rather neat tour of south east coast with a blurry narrowboat.

Why not just hire a crane to do your anti-fouling like other peeps eh...........
Anyway all Pedros want to be narrow boats when they grow up. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yeah, been following the TNC stories - pretty good. Serious narrowboating when you go equipped with chainsaws just so you can get that little bit further up a disused & overgrown cut /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Saw a narrowboat off of Canvey isle last time we came round and they waved, least think they were waving.Saw another on the way back a week later a mile or two further up the reach .Same boat we reckon. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

There was a story about some working boatmen who used to deliver grain to Wellingborough on the Nene. The story goes that they were trapped on the Nene due a stoppage on the Grand Union, so they sent a message to head office with a scheme to get back, not wanting to lose money.

'Plan to lash motor and butty together with telegraph poles, proceed down Nene to Wash. Will travel round east coast, into Thames Esturary. We knows the road from then on'

They got a reply.

'You do that, and your cards will be waiting for you when you arrive'.
