People do antifoul but in 12 years of having my Gori I have never bothered.
The only problem in all this time has been in Chichester Marina when I had my hip changed so could not sail in the summer and the marina worms filled their boots and fouled the prop with left over casts. A quick lift in the late summer , scrape and all was back to normal.
I did expriment with previous yacht on prop antifoul but found it next to useless. I guess it is one of those things where those that do swear by it and those that don't are equally as happy.
Do not use any copper based antifouling (most of them). It will damage the prop. You need a priming barrier coats then a specific propeller antifouling or something like Trilux 33.
I use Trilux (expensively) on the bootline, and then use what's left over on my Kiwi prop. Much of it comes off of course but it must help. Presumably grease in the "works" will help as well.
