When burnishing prop. I discovered that there is slight play between propeller unit/cone and collar that is affixed to shaft. The collar appears to be firmly fixed to shaft so movement is apparently the result of the slide fit of the propellor unit over the collar and the fact that the cone cannot be fiercely tightly screwed on to the propellor unit because of the need for the locking screws to locate through the cone on to the propeller unit. This is a propeller with ring anodes attached with the shorter cone. Has anyone else noticed this sort of movement?

Bad news I suspect Kurrawong.
Have had one of these for 10 years and have taken it apart several times for inspection. Only takes 30 mins from start of job to when you pull the inner cone off with the supplied puller.
On mine I have no play whatsoever between inner cone and outer hub, indeed the machining tolerance is so good the grease I smear between inner and outer taper cone surfaces stays intact between the infrequent inspections. The locking holes only line up after a gentle tap on the outer cone with the supplied C spanner. to get that final engineers 'nip'
I fear somebody has installed it sloppily, dropped the outer cone making it slightly oval or put it back together without going the final tightening, one hole short and thus loose , thus allowing wear to develop.
Would advise to remove, go back to basics clean all surfaces to high polish standard, measure for ovality, if ok refit and see how close you are to a engineers 'nip' and the locking screws lining up with holes in innner cone. If necessary after cleaning and polishing and perhaps lapping in, you might have to drill locking screw holes in new positions on the inner cone.

BOL - Previously I have used and fitted Italian and UK folding props but now I would not buy or recommend any other yacht prop than Gori. Expensive but streets ahead in quality and lastablity of the others.

to second previous - our 2 blade gori folder came to the end of it's lifespan (believed to have been 16 years old so didn't do badly) and we replaced via uk gori suppliers sillette - found people there very helpful to deal with and would recommend them based on our experience - did look at several others but decided best to stick with the model that had worked well
