Hello

I have a bought called the 'Gorgues Gussie' i recently bought from caversham boatyard in reading, very cheap as it was a bit of a wreck, and in the process of restoring and selling her i am desperate to find some more info- hull material, age, build etc
and the history of the craft.

I have been told so far that she was built in 1950 by the hook brothers of teignmouth and also that she was built in 1968, and have also heard she used to run sea trips out of exmouth in the 80's and theres a lot of stuff on the internet of her in landudno north wales doing boat trips, (presumably in the 90's), also supposedly that she was once owned by a famous boater called hiram lewis?

Here are some photos

Any info on the history and manafucture of this boat would be so greatly appreciated as i currently know nothing about the hull wood and other important details, although there have been many people saying that they recognise it along the river, have you seen the gussie ?

cheers
Daniel

This is interesting for me as the "Gussie" was built for my Dad John Boyne in 1950 and she was indeed built by the Hook brothers Stan and Sid and ?? Broome
Is she still in Caversham would be interested to see her what engine does she have ? it used to be a Perkins diesel

regards John
