Google has launched an extension of Google Earth, which allows internet users to virtually explore the ocean. Google Ocean, which is included in the newest download version of Google Earth, allows users to explore the high seas with thousands of images of underwater landscapes from volcanoes to sea life. Users can also watch videos, read stories and look at photographs as they explore the ocean.

The site is at an early stage, but there is a ‘hot link button’ situated in the Severn Estuary, which connects to a page for uploading videos, photographs and stories. The Partnership has started to upload links to the SEP website and is currently investigating the possibility of uploading some basic Partnership information and images. Meanwhile if you have material on the area which you think would be useful to others please use the facilities of Google Ocean to make it available to a wider audience. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
