Has anyone had trouble with Google Newstand? I bought a subscription to PBO in June and all was fine until Google got rid of their magazine app and replaced it with Newstand. This app just crashes and no-one wants to discuss it. spoke with IPC, not interested, and Google just unobtainable. What a strange and frustrating situation, paying for something I can't access. Wish I had stuck with my paper magazines.

Can you email me on Monday richard_shead@ipcmedia.com? we (IPC) can't refund as it was direct through Google but I will see what I can do. if the apps not working we need to know.

Cheers

hi Richard. i have just seen your response. So sorry it has taken so long to get back to you. As I did not see my post on this forum I had assumed that the moderator had not allowed my message so didn't come back to forum until today. I was at a dead end with problem and going to consign the whole thing to a bad experience, when my Samsung did a major update and suddenly newstand started to work. However one complaint I still have is that the ability to read off line seems very hit and miss and unless you scroll through every page when offline, you can't be certain that you have any or all of the mags actually downloaded and Newstand does not seem to like being used whdn offline. I like to read my magazines when travelling and was so hacked off to find me in Ireland with no access to internet and unable to access any.
When my subscribtion comes up for renewel I am going to look for alternatives as I can't say I like using Google who really are looking at any method they can to monitor users behaviour and I suspect this is why they want you to be online all the time. Google are also very poor at customer services in areas where there is no imediate profitabilty. I must have spent hours trying to get to the bottom of this when I should have been working. You really do feel you are on your own.
