I've just noticed that Google maps has updated very recently and I can now see my boat on its berth! Sad I know but I've been hoping to see one of my boats over the years on there and now I have.:D

yeah I remember thinking that too lol...just checked Port Solent though and Google Maps is still showing a pic that's about 5 years old :(

Thanks for spotting.

There was a "what!" moment when I looked. I could see all our cars on the drive at home (i.e. we were all at home) yet there was a gap where our trailered boat normally sits in the Marina boat park. Now as we cannot go anywhere in a trailered boat unless the car is also there created a mystery, had our boat been taken out by someone else without our knowledge!!!

......no, we found it 20 miles away in another marina. For a few days this summer it went to have a Bimini fitted, phew!

Its quite weird to see you life captured in satellite photos.

That's just freaky! :)

Alas, not in France. My marina has a 2005 photo, which shows my first Sq58 and my then neighbour boat, the Nordhavn 46 called Moby Dick that has been in Swanwick marina since 2006/7. Nick_H on here bought its berth when it sailed from Antibes to Swanwick. The photo also shows TCM's Leopard Sport 23m

Mine too, and she's only been in the new berth for a couple of weeks.

fwiw,

google earth has a nifty feature of choosing date of the aerial photo you see.
In Volos google maps only recently moved to a 2008 pic (at last my house is not a construction site!) but google earth goes up to 2012 in the same area ;)

cheers

V.
