There was a thread the other week about using google earth to navigate by and an example of some where the photo was so old it didn't show the marina at all. The copyright date on the photo was 2005. Don't know if that's what you're going by, but it appears the sat photos can be very old in some cases
Thanks Brendan..One more query..the Google earth page is too "tall" for my screen & I can't see the bottom of the page. I have tried to fix this..no luck can you help? Thanks again
It's a patchwork of various images taken over years and not a one off survey (not actually satellite imagery either), useful if you want to sail in a major city centre though
what happens if you grab the bottom edge and rezize. Have you tried going to view, view size in the menu and trying some of the different size settings?
The problem is that the bottom edge is out of reach ie below the bottom of my screen. Will try your second suggestion and let you know how it goes. Thanks again
Sorry it took a while to come back, the way the software is structured suggests a satellite survey (i.e. zoom in from space), know they didn't suggest it was anything other than a patchwork but to those who don't know they could think it was recent satellite imagery.
