dont know much about Spain, but there s a big difference between 22ft and 28ft.What will you be using it for, and how much do you think you will be using it?

You are probably best with a walkround day boat with a small cuddy cabin with a toilet in. Key things are large canvas Bimini, lots of lounging space and somewhere to get out of sun.

I would recomend the Cap Cammarat 625WA. Oh, and if you keep it under 7m a lot of Marinas will find you space, anything over can be a nightmare!

Point taken , I have a berth secured which can take up to 28ft,
noticed some 24ft boats have loa of 27ft ( with bathing platform), hence max 28th, ideally want best accommodation on deck , but must have ( says' her indoors ')
proper sea toilet, looking around all sports cuddys in this bracket seem to have only chemical loo, need something for full day on water, using it 6weeks a year, ( can 't consider rental there isnt any ) help needed!

Ditto what Nautorious said but I would go to the next model up the 755 WA as this has a proper loo, and loads more lounging area, fridge, water etc and handles beautifully. I think it is 7.55 metres LOA

I agree with Wakeup, If you have 8m then get a 755 WA.

Alternatively look at the US Sportscruisers. The ones you want are the larger Cockpit/smaller cabins. Boats like the Chapparal 240SSE would be perfect (I had one in Menorca a while back) Small 4 berth cabin but with Sea Toilet and large cockpit. After 2002 they all had swim platform extensions as well.

I think you also need a deep V hull so that you can use her more such as Cap Cammarat or Chaparral.

re sea toilet.. just bear in mind that without a holding tank, you may not always be able to use it quite when you want to -ie in the anchorage...!
If you arent going to sleep on it, maybe have a look at the larger bowriders too. The more hull in the water the better, but watch some of those supposed lengths. As you say, often its all swimplatform, or overhang, so take a note when comparing prices. 60cm of platform is alot cheaper than 60cm of hull.Have a look whats popular where you will keep it;it helps to have a local dealer when things go wrong/spare parts. Take a critical eye on storage, if you are into watersports, soggy wetsuits, towels and skivests need a spacious wetlocker . If you get a larger boat= a larger anchor. If you do alot of anchoring, it isnt that funny continually pulling up by hand, so consider some mechanical assistance if going over 24ft!
USA make a good range;you pay for what quality you want. Searay and Regal tend to get things pretty much right with a higher quality build, but they arent the only ones.Monterey get well reviewed;not a bad bang for your buck, but perhaps not quite the same league.
Id start with what dealerships are local, and see if they have something that catches your eye. Its not to say you shouldnt egta boat without local back-up, but even n a small sportsboat its amazing how often some stupid little things needs fixing. Good if the guy down the road can help, rather than 1000km away!

All sound advice & confirms my thoughts, however the jeanneau is a boat i never considered, on the sevice side, the marina has v.p . agent but surprisingly no boat dealership
(Puerto Calero), would be a day boat only, have cruiser @ home don't want to run two.on the bow rider i always considered these as lake boats, not altantic coast, my list : Searay 240 , Regal2650 LSC , Jeanneau 755, Cranchi 24ft,
Rinker 232, any additions?
cheers guys

As to US brands, so long as this will be a used boat, may as well throw Cobalt on there. Rinker is good bang-for-the-buck, but really nowhere near Sea Ray or Cobalt. Not so posh, but I would consider a Baja as well. Agree with gjgm on Monterey. In fact, I would as much want a Monty as a Regal.
